Why Every Project Starts With a Free Estimate
RYA Painting & Remodeling offers a free estimate on every interior painting, exterior painting, and cabinet refinishing project across Burnsville and the west and south metro. Before any work is scheduled, we want to see the actual space, hear what the project is about, and make sure the address is in our service area. A free estimate means there is no cost and no obligation to find that out.
For homeowners who have not worked with a painting or cabinet refinishing company before, not knowing what that first visit looks like can be the biggest reason a project gets put off. Here is what to expect, from the first call to the finished estimate.
What Happens When You Call or Send a Message
The process starts with a phone call to (763) 807-8264 or a message through our contact page. We are available Monday to Sunday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, so reaching us does not usually mean waiting through a narrow weekday window. On that first conversation, we confirm the address is within the west or south metro area we serve, get a general sense of the project, and set up a time for someone from our team to come take a look in person.
This first conversation is also a good time to ask any early questions, whether that is about interior or exterior painting or cabinet refinishing for a kitchen or bathroom. Nothing about this step costs anything or commits a homeowner to moving forward.
What the Estimate Visit Covers
The in-person estimate is where the actual project gets looked at directly. What gets covered depends on the kind of work being considered.
For Interior Painting
We walk through the rooms being painted, get a sense of the surfaces and condition of the walls and trim, and talk through the scope of the project with the homeowner before putting together a free estimate.
For Exterior Painting
Exterior estimates cover the full outside of the home or building, including siding, trim, and any larger surfaces like a garage door. Since exterior work depends on weather and the time of year, this is also a good time to talk through scheduling, especially heading into fall, when the window for exterior work starts to close.
For Cabinet Refinishing
For kitchen or bathroom cabinets, we look at the existing cabinet boxes and doors to talk through whether refinishing makes sense compared to full replacement, and what that project would involve.

After the Estimate
Once the estimate visit is done, there is no pressure to decide on the spot. A homeowner can take the estimate, think it over, and reach back out whenever they are ready to move forward. When a project does get scheduled, the same team that walked through the space during the estimate carries the project through prep, priming where needed, and finish work, all the way to a final walkthrough once the job is complete.
